  33. What is Tagger?
  34.  
  35. Tagger is a special utility that makes it FAST and EASY to 
  36. use automatic numbering for equations, figures, and tables 
  37. in your Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0 and 7.0 documents.  
  38.  
  39. Tagger includes two special tools.  First, the Tagger 
  40. dialog box lets you create equation numbers or figure 
  41. captions more easily than ever before.  Second, the Tag 
  42. Browser is a powerful, feature-packed utility for inserting 
  43. cross-references to equations, tables, even headings and 
  44. bookmarks.  Tagger and the Tag Browser provide a 
  45. complete solution for numbering and cross-referencing -- 
  46. like Word's Insert/Caption and Insert/Cross-reference 
  47. commands, but much more powerful!  If you use numbering or 
  48. cross-referencing in your documents, Tagger will save you 
  49. time by automating these tedious chores.

  51. For example:  When you insert an equation number, Tagger 
  52. automatically formats the number to appear at the right 
  53. margin -- not in the next paragraph, as with Word's 
  54. Insert/Caption command.  And when you cross-reference a 
  55. figure number, the Tag Browser automatically displays the 
  56. figure so you can be certain to pick the correct figure.  
  57. You can also cross-reference headings by choosing from a 
  58. list that, unlike Word's list, is hierarchical and includes 
  59. the heading numbers.  Finally, the cross-reference is 
  60. inserted using a "GoTo" button that provides an automatic 
  61. hyperlink (double-clicking the cross-reference 
  62. automatically moves the cursor to the text being referred 
  63. to.)

  65. Tagger 4.0 also features:  automatic tables of Equations, 
  66. Figures, Tables, or Items; custom caption paragraph styles; 
  67. support for different languages (Danish, Dutch, English, 
  68. Finnish, French, Polish, Swedish, and German); and a 
  69. special Tagger toolbar.

  74. Tagger 4.0 represents a complete overhaul, with literally 
  75. dozens of major and minor improvements.  Thanks to helpful 
  76. feedback from users all over the world, Tagger 4.0 
  77. introduces the following exciting new features:

  79. ╖ You can now define and save multiple custom tag styles, 
  80. similar in concept to paragraph styles or font styles.

  82. ╖ The Tag Browser is MUCH faster than ever before -- the 
  83. list displays almost immediately, even in very long 
  84. documents.

  86. ╖ The Tag Browser can also cross-reference headings and 
  87. bookmarks.

  89. ╖ A new macro, TaggerUpdate, lets you find and replace tags 
  90. in an existing document, so you can update old files to the 
  91. new tag format of Tagger 4.0.

  93. Tagger now runs under Word 7.0, and includes 
  94. context-sensitive online help.  Cross-reference annotations 
  95. are embedded within the cross-reference, so that a trailing 
  96. annotation cannot wrap to the next line. The Tag Browser 
  97. can now cross-reference bookmarks as well as tags.  Other 
  98. new features: French and Swedish language support, better 
  99. Table of Figures support, position memory for dialog boxes, 
  100. and much more.
